The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced the Students of the Month for December. The honorees are Milligan Straub and Richard Fitts. Honorees are recognized by members of the Mount Joy Rotary during the club's monthly luncheon meeting.

Milligan is the daughter of Christopher and Traci Straub of Maytown. Milli's excellence in academics has led to her two-year membership in National Honor Society, where she serves as secretary; her three-year membership in National Art Honor Society, where she serves as co-president; and her two-year membership in National Math Honor Society. Additionally, she has served as a class officer throughout high school. She has performed in plays and musicals with Donegal Performing Arts since ninth grade and has also been a member of the German Club throughout high school. She previously participated in the GAPP exchange as a junior, Senator for a Day as a sophomore, track and field in her freshman year, and tennis in her freshman and sophomore years.

Outside of school, Milli attends Trinity Lutheran Church and is active with its youth group. She has attended approximately five dance classes a week since ninth grade and teaches beginner ballet classes. She also taught ESL ballet club at Price Elementary School.

Her plans after graduation include attending college, where she plans to study foreign languages. She would eventually like to teach English in Germany.

Richard is the son of Jeffrey Fitts and Alison Hoke-Fitts of Mount Joy. Throughout high school, he has participated in Donegal Performing Arts, Rhythm Singers, and choir. He has been a Link Crew leader for two years, he was a part of the cross-country team in ninth grade, and he was on the tennis team in 10th grade.

Outside of school, Ricky is involved in Trinity Lutheran Church's youth group, where he has helped with many community service activities, such as meal packing and sorting items for clothing drives. Ricky has been in local theater productions with Susquehanna Stage Company, Hershey Area Playhouse, and Popovsky Performing Arts.

After graduation, Ricky plans to attend a four-year college to study graphic design.
