Mount Joy Rotary Recognizes Students

The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month. Meg Zell and Sam Johnstin are the April honorees, and Francyne Nichols and Isaac Lloyd were chosen for May. Students of the Month are honored by the Rotary club during its monthly luncheon meeting.

Meg, daughter of Ashley and Michael Zell of Mount Joy, serves as vice president of the National Honor Society, and she is a member of the Prayer Group and Future Business Leaders of America. She has served as a Link Crew leader and a member of Aevidum, Key Club, and the cross-country and track and field teams. In the community, Meg has served as a volunteer at the Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce since she was 8. She is a member of her church's youth group. Meg plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences will the goal of becoming a nurse.

Sam, son of Sylvia and Jason Johnstin of Marietta, has been a Prayer Group leader and a member of Key Club. He serves on the tech team and in children's ministry at Community Bible Church, where he also attends the youth group. Outside school, Sam is a video and social media assistant at Community Bible Church. After graduation, he plans to be an apprentice in the electrical field.

Francyne, daughter of Rosa Noriega of Mount Joy, is a leader in both Link Crew and the Prayer Group as well as a member of Rhythm Singers and Tri-M Music Honor Society. She performs on stage with the Donegal Performing Arts Club and also serves as the group's historian. Outside school, Francyne attends Community Bible Church, where she is a pianist and vocalist in the youth worship team. She was recently involved in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" with Susquehanna Stage Company. Francyne will attend Messiah University to study social work.

Isaac, son of Patricia and David Lloyd of Marietta, is a member of the Donegal Performing Arts Club, German Club, Ski Club, and the track and field team. In the community, he is active in Scouting and the youth group at his church. After graduation, Isaac plans to take a gap year to study in Germany. He would like to study psychology or anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh or at a German university.
