Mrs. Claus to visit library

Columbia Public Library, 24 S. Sixth St., Columbia, will host two events featuring Mrs. Claus in December.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, Mrs. Claus will read stories between 9 a.m. and noon, and people will have the opportunity to take pictures with her. A community hot chocolate bar, sponsored by Rob Kedney with Thrivent Financial, will be set up, along with sugar cookie decorating and a children's craft.

Children are also invited to visit Mrs. Claus on Friday, Dec. 22, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for stories and cookies. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas to this event. Heather Beury, library director, noted that this event will be the library's first evening story time with Mrs. Claus. The program aims to offer a story time opportunity for families that are unable to attend during the day.
