Weston Groff and Rylie Martin won this year's James L. and Jane Louise Wertz Awards. The Manheim Township Educational Foundation (MTEF) presents the awards annually to two freshman students in recognition of improvement and accomplishment. The students are nominated and selected by faculty members and administrators.

The James L. and Jane Louise Wertz Award was established in memory of the Wertz siblings, who graduated in 1982 and 1985, respectively, by their parents to recognize that the transition from middle school to high school can be challenging and that success can be found through hard work.
