Mummert Named Mayor Of The Year

Elizabethtown Borough Mayor Chuck Mummert has been named Mayor of the Year by the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania (AMBP), which represents the state's 956 borough communities.

Mummert has served as Elizabethtown's mayor since 2010. Previously he was a borough council member from 2006 to 2010. He is active in many community groups, including the Rotary Club, and is also a member of the Lancaster County Boroughs Association. Additionally, he is a board member of the Chrostwaite Institute, which is dedicated to improving government efficiency, investment in core communities, fiscal stability, transportation, water infrastructure, and community and economic development, among other areas.

From 2016 to 2017, Mummert served as president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB). He also served on the PSAB Resolutions and Policy Steering Committee, which helps to shape the legislative agenda for the organization.

Mummert has received numerous accolades over the years. He was the recipient of PSAB's 2019 Anthony J. Defilippi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Government Affairs and the 2018 Governor's Award for Local Government Excellence, which honors service to the community.

In his spare time, Mummert, known locally as the "Singing Mayor," enjoys performing the national anthem for local professional sports teams and at churches and nursing facilities.
