Museum Friends To Offer Norway Trip

The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania will sponsor a customized travel experience to Norway from Saturday, June 24, through Monday, July 3, 2023. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, March 21, and early registration is encouraged.

The Riding the Scenic Rails of Norway Ramble will include train rides on the Kroderbanen steam train, Teritten heritage train, Bergen Line train, Flam Railway, Floibanen funicular, and Old Vossebane steam train; visits to the Norwegian Folk Museum, the Tram Museum, the Viking Museum, the Technical Museum, the Flam Railway Museum, the Rallar Museum, the Hanseatic Museum, and Edvard Grieg's house and studio, including a recital; and cruises on the Opplandske paddle steamer on Lake Mjosa, AS Flam on the Aurlandsfjord ,and the veteran ship Stord I on the Byfjorden. There is also an orientation tour of Oslo and ample time at leisure on various days to explore.

The cost of the trip also includes round-trip airfare from a designated U.S. international airport to Norway; eight nights' lodging; eight breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners, including a history-inspired Vikings' plank dinner with beverage tastings; and the services of a Norwegian tour manager and a travel escort.
