Museum plans seasonal activities

American Helicopter Museum & Education Center (AHMEC), 1220 American Blvd., West Chester, will offer spooky fun throughout October.

Scary STEM Weekends will take place on select weekend dates. Hands-on activity tables will be available from noon to 3 p.m. and will be included with the admission fee. Activities will entail using film canisters and Alka Seltzer to make "ghosts" fly high into the sky during Ghost Rockets on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14 and 15, and making gooey slime using household ingredients on Sunday, Oct. 22.

AHMEC will host a presentation by author Jenn Green on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The topic will be "Dark History of Penn's Woods 2."

The Haunted Helicopters trick-or-treating event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring activities, treats, and costumes. Kennett Brewing Company and Dressler Estate will offer adult beverages for purchase. There is a fee for the event, but it will be waived for those under age 2 and museum members.
