Museum To Display "Star Trek" Props, Costumes

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC), 1220 American Blvd., West Chester, will present "Star Trek Screen-Used Props and Costumes" through Sunday, Nov. 27. This collection of about 40 screen-used and production-made artifacts spans decades and includes costumes, weapons, communicators and pieces of the starship Enterprise. Among the items are a costume worn by Jonathan Frakes in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," a gold operations uniform from "Star Trek: Voyager" and a phaser rifle from "Star Trek: Nemesis," noted Paul Kahan, AHMEC's executive director.

An accompanying Speaker's Series will be offered on select Wednesdays. Participation will be available on-site at the museum or with a personal device off-site via Zoom. There is a fee per event for nonmembers; the programs are free to members. The speakers will be Lawrence Krauss, author of "The Physics of Star Trek," on Oct. 19; Daniel Chavkin and Brian McGuire, authors of "Star Trek: Designing the Final Frontier," on Nov. 2; and Sherilyn Connelly, author of "The First Star Trek Movie: Bringing the Franchise to the Big Screen," on Nov. 16.
