Music Festival Planned At Meetinghouse

The seventh annual Music Festival will be held on the lawn of the 1871 Wenger Meetinghouse on Sunday, July 11, at 3 p.m. The meetinghouse is located at 16 Supervisors Drive, Jonestown.

The festival will feature The Ministers of Music performing gospel music. The group is made up of Lamar Dourte, first tenor; Bob Kettering, baritone; Merle Gingerich, second tenor; Ron Ludwick, bass; John Frye, accompanist; and Dennis Garrison, sound tech. Members are from Lancaster and Lebanon counties and have been presenting vocal music since 1979, celebrating 40 years in 2019. The group performs many traditional songs in modern arrangements, and selections feature a blend of close harmonies presented a cappella or with keyboard accompaniment.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs. A freewill offering, along with proceeds from refreshments at intermission, will go toward the restoration of the meetinghouse.
