The 22nd annual New Holland Summer Fest will be held on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 27 and 28, at New Holland Community Park on East Jackson Street, New Holland. The event features a state championship barbecue contest.

On Aug. 27, teams will arrive and meat inspection will begin at 8 a.m. The park will open to the public at 10:45 a.m., with vendors opening at 11 a.m. The festivities will also include a music concert at 7:30 p.m. The park will close to the public at 10:30 p.m., with the sound curfew at 11 p.m.

Saturday's portion of the event will begin with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The park will open to the public at 8:45 a.m. Turn-ins will begin at 11:30 a.m., and categories will be sausage, chicken, pork ribs, pork, brisket, chef's choice and whole hog. A DJ will provide music at 2 p.m. from the main stage. Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m.
