New wellness center to launch

The Holistic Center for Health and Well-being is a new nonprofit initiative in the community. Located at 1170 Erbs Quarry Road, Lititz, the Holistic Center for Health and Well-being's focus is on "helping heal the whole person." Denyse Kling is the center's founder and executive director.

The center will hold a launch party and fundraiser at the Lititz Springs Inn, 14 E. Main St., Lititz, on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Holistic Center for Health and Well-being's programs include many varieties of yoga, such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Yoga Nidra, as well as Yoga for Veterans, facilitated by a Marine Corps combat veteran. Other activities include movement therapy, meditation classes, sound immersion sessions, breath work classes, personal development sessions, yoga teacher trainings, health courses led by a naturopath, nutrition and healthy cooking programs, a Banish the Burnout program and seminars and events.

Community members may also experience kirtan, a musical form of narration with a variety of instruments, reciting, and storytelling. This activity has roots in the Vedic tradition.

Kling hopes to make the center an inclusive space that is accessible to everyone, including those who otherwise would not be able to afford to participate. Donations and grants will assist in covering the costs.

Yoga United at Brighton will now be under the umbrella of the Holistic Center for Health and Well-being.
