The Popcorn Hat Players will present its 29th annual New Year's Eve party for children. Thumbelina will be featured in this year's family-friendly show, during which attendees will count down to noon instead of midnight. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, at Gamut Theatre, 15 N. Fourth St., Harrisburg. Doors will open at 10 a.m.

Everyone will receive party hats, Hawaiian leis, and noisemakers to help them celebrate the end of the countdown. A big balloon will be dropped into the audience at noon.
