Nonprofits Will Benefit From Designathon

Local nonprofit organizations that seek professional-quality updates to their logos, brochures, websites, graphic design elements, and other materials are invited to apply to Pennsylvania College of Art & Design's 13th annual Designathon event. Designathon, held by the college's American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) student chapter, is a one-day event that provides these design services at no charge. It involves current students and faculty, as well as alumni, in a community service program that has served dozens of organizations during its history.

Traditionally a 24-hour effort, the 2021 Designathon will be held on one day, Saturday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. To follow the college's pandemic health guidelines, clients will meet virtually with their design team to briefly outline what is needed and again to receive the finished product.

To apply by Wednesday, Feb. 10, local organizations must complete the application available at http://www.pcad.edu/designathon-2021 and email it to Pam Barby, chair of graphic design, at pbarby@pcad.edu. More details about the process, including contact information for specific questions, may be found at the aforementioned website.
