North Museum posts water-themed art exhibit

The North Museum of Nature & Science has opened a new group exhibition, "Reflecting the Tides," in its Art Gallery. "Reflecting the Tides" consists of two- and three-dimensional works of art by 27 Lancaster-area artists. In the artworks, their creators explore their relationship with water. The exhibit includes several watercolor works by featured artist Jennifer Nye of Cornwall, highlighting works inspired by the smells, sounds, and experiences during her travels in New England.

In connection with the exhibition, a Gallery Conversation event will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m. Several exhibiting artists will discuss studio practice habits, artwork interpretation, motivation, and the artistic spark. There will be a question-and-answer time. The event is free, but advance reservations are requested at https://tinyurl.com/GalleryConversationJune15.

The exhibition will continue through Friday, Aug. 30, and is accessible as part of admission to the North Museum, which is open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Art Gallery replaces the museum's former STEAM gallery, with revolving exhibitions refreshed quarterly. To be considered for future exhibitions, artists may visit http://www.NorthMuseum.org/exhibits.
