The Elevate Investing Group and Win This Fight, Stop Human Trafficking Now, delivered a check for $61,057 to North Star Initiative on July 7. The donation resulted from Lancaster-area residents texting "elevate" to 55312, according to Mitzi Perdue, founder of Win This Fight.

The funds will be used to further equip North Star Initiative as it expands the services it offers to survivors of human trafficking. The organization's long-term restoration home, The Harbor, provides survivors with 24/7 care, which includes medical and psychological treatment as well as education and career-building opportunities. Each survivor is given the tools she needs to become sustainably independent.
