Octorara PTO To Host Fall Fest

The Octorara Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will present its annual Fall Family Fun Fest on Friday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Octorara Primary Learning Center, 87 Highland Road, Atglen. The fundraiser will feature games, food, carnival rides and hayrides.

The event will take place inside and outside the school building, and all activities will be free and open to the public. "The Octorara Fall Fest is a true community celebration; families, friends and neighbors are all welcome, whether or not you attend Octorara," said Nala Bennett, vice president of the Octorara PTO and one of the event organizers.

She noted that the games will be run by Octorara staff members, and the Houghton family has donated a carousel and a fun house for the evening.

"Everything is completely free. Admission and games are free for everyone who attends," said Bennett. "Families can enjoy a wide variety of carnival-style games, with plenty of chances to win fun little prizes."

Food will be available for purchase throughout the event from the Nacho Depot food truck. "We will also have classic funnel cakes, and our PTO board will be selling hot dog meals and snacks," Bennett said.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to win gift baskets filled with items donated by local businesses.

She said the Fall Fest is one of the PTO's biggest fundraisers of the year. "Every dollar raised goes right back into our schools, helping fund classroom supplies, keeping field trips affordable and often free and supporting teacher appreciation events and meals during conferences," Bennett noted.

This is the PTO's second year of hosting the Fall Fest at the Octorara Primary Learning Center. "Last year's event was such a hit that we knew we had to bring it back even bigger and better this year," Bennett added.
