The Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Hershey Chapter, recently donated 380 used eyeglasses to the Hershey Lions Club. This donation is part of a multi-year project of the OES Hershey Chapter.

Linda E. Watson, a member of the OES Hershey Chapter and soon to be installed as the worthy grand matron of the Grand Chapter of PA, OES Inc., has supported the eyeglasses collection since 2017. Over 600 eyeglasses had been donated by the organization prior to the recent donation. The collection will continue until June 2022. Glasses that are collected locally help people in need around the world.

"We're happy to partner with the Order of the Eastern Star, Hershey Chapter, to help the visually impaired. This new collaboration is a significant way to increase the service impact of both organizations," shared Hershey Lions Club president Steve Gallerizzo. "Since we are all stakeholders in this community, it is a tremendous benefit for everyone when organizations partner like this."

Other initiatives of the OES Hershey Chapter are food donations to local food banks, meals at Ronald McDonald House, donations to a local children's home, support of the Hershey Fire Company, and many other annual projects.
