Orchestra Plans "An American Salute"

The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate Independence Day one day early with the 19th annual free concert on the lawn of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey. "An American Salute" will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. In the case of rain, the concert will be scheduled for the following evening.

Complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by the Hershey Medical Center. Food and drinks for purchase will be offered by food trucks parked along the perimeter of the crowd. Guests may also bring their own food and drinks.

The first half of the concert will feature movie themes, and in the second half of the concert, the orchestra will present "An American Salute" accompanied by Hershey Symphony Orchestra vocalists as they celebrate America and provide a tribute to the military.

The concert is under the direction of Dr. Bob Sproul and is sponsored by Hershey Medical Center and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra with support from Hershey Expositions, Filson Water, Pepsi, and Hershey Ice Cream. Parking is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A freewill offering will be received to benefit the orchestra.
