Orchestra posts concerts

Lancaster Symphony Orchestra will present three concerts.

"Baroque Laments to Romantic Triumphs" will be presented on Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 22, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The performances will take place at the Gardner Theatre within Lancaster Country Day School, 725 Hamilton Road, Lancaster. The program will include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5; Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor, featuring Norman Krieger; and John Dowland's "Lachrimae Antiquae."

"Cirque de la Symphonie" will be presented on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. at the Lancaster County Convention Center, 25 S. Queen St., Lancaster. Acrobats and aerialists will perform to the sound of a full symphony orchestra.

The season finale will be "Brahms and Beyond" at the Gardner Theatre on Friday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The program will include Brahms' Symphony No. 1, a Bandoneon Concerto performed by composer and bandoneon virtuoso Richard Scofano, and Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun."
