Organization Selects New Team Members

The American Heart Association, a voluntary organization focused on heart and brain health for all, recently announced its new Lancaster/Lebanon division staff team.

The division's executive director is Kristen Masengarb. For the past decade, she has been a member of the development and alumni relations team at Penn State University, where she has worked as director of Mini-THON at Four Diamonds. She recently received the YWCA Woman of Excellence Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University.

Alek Tomazin will serve as development director in Lancaster County, working closely with local companies and volunteers through events and initiatives, including the Lancaster Heart Walk, Lancaster Heart Ball and Go Red for Women movement. For the past six years, Tomazin worked in development and alumni relations at Penn State University, where she served as associate director of Mini-THON for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Tomazin holds a Bachelor of Science in animal science and business management from the Pennsylvania State University.

Disha Modi will serve as development director in Lebanon County, leading local fundraising and community impact efforts through events and initiatives, such as the Lebanon Heart Walk and Lebanon Heart Ball. Throughout her career, Modi has focused on creating a positive customer experience, while increasing revenue and building long-term relationships with her accounts. Most recently, she served as service manager for Wells Fargo, where she played an instrumental role in training and developing her team. Modi is bilingual in English and Gujarati and holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Rutgers University.

Lily Tiday will serve as development coordinator, supporting the work of the Lancaster/Lebanon team and providing direct customer and volunteer support in those communities to engage them in the mission of the American Heart Association. Tiday holds a Bachelor of Science in integrated communications from Liberty University, where she graduated magna cum laude and worked for several years as an events officer and member of the advertising team. Most recently, she served as a social media marketing expert for Adler & Marlow.

The funds raised by the American Heart Association go toward cardiovascular research, advocacy, CPR training and promoting better health in support of the Association's 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, focused on reducing barriers to health care access and quality. In Lancaster and Lebanon counties, the American Heart Association is working specifically to address barriers to hypertension management, reduce food insecurity and combat youth vaping and tobacco use.
