Ornithologist to present program

The Lancaster County Bird Club (LCBC) will meet on Thursday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in the Visitor's Center of Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, 100 Museum Road, Stevens. A short business meeting will precede the program.

Ornithologist Sean Murphy of the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) will present "The State of Pennsylvania's Birds." Across the continent, bird populations are declining in almost every habitat, including Pennsylvania. Murphy will discuss bird population changes in Pennsylvania, highlight a few bird species and the actions the PGC is taking to help reverse the trends, and introduce upcoming opportunities to support and help.

The public is invited to attend free of charge. For more details, call 717-856-3851 or 717-725-2717. To learn more about the club, visit http://www.lancasterbirdclub.org.
