Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer three special events. Programs are open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number. Attendees should meet at the Environmental Center.

Story Forest: SSSSnakes! will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12. A story time and craft will be offered for children of all ages. A fee applies.

Drawing Close to Nature, a nature journaling walk, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13. Attendees should bring their own journal. Color will be supplied. A fee applies.

A fitness hike will step off at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14. The faster-paced hike will be 4 to 6 miles in length. Participants should bring water.
