PA Central Federal Credit Union (FCU) will host a Shred It Event on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at PA Central's Palmyra Branch on Main Street in Palmyra. The event will be held rain or shine. PA Central FCU members and the community are invited to have any unneeded documents securely destroyed. Shredding will be done on-site.

People who shred their documents protect their privacy and shredding can prevent identity theft.

The free event is a fundraising effort for The Caring Cupboard Food Pantry in Palmyra. Participants are asked to make a monetary donation to The Caring Cupboard in lieu of a shred fee. PA Central FCU has set up an event page with additional information at http://www.pacentralfcu.com/shredhunger.
