Parade Winners Announced

The 40th York Saint Patrick's Day Parade was held on March 14, drawing a crowd of 15,000 people. The Youth Development Center won Best of Parade.

The categories and their winners included Decorated Vehicle - Commercial: Husbands Helpers, first place, and Martin's Snacks, honorable mention; Decorated Vehicle - Non-Commercial: York County Corvette Club, first place, and Penn Mar Irish Festival, honorable mention; Antique Vehicle: Old Fire Farts of York County PA, first place, and Karl Shubert, honorable mention; and Individual/Family Group, Oak Ridge Stables, first place, and Friends of George Margetas, honorable mention.

Also, Float: 6:08 Wing Group, first place, and York County Agricultural Society, honorable mention; Non-Profit Organization: Manheim Central Wonder Wheels, first place, and Explore York, honorable mention; Honor Guard: William Penn High School JROTC, first place, and 87th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Company C, honorable mention; Media: WGAL TV 8, first place, and 96.1 SOX, honorable mention; and Irish Dance Group: Ni Riain School of Irish Dance, first place, and OH! Gills Irish Dance Team, honorable mention.

The masters of ceremonies were Tasmin Mahfuz and Michael Fuller from WGAL, and the judges were Angela Dean, director of marketing at Ace Distributing; Michael Hady, CEO at the Powder Mill Foundation; JT Hand, president and CEO at the York Water Company; and Michael Muldrow, commissioner of the York City Police Department.
