Parkesburg POINT Receives Donation

Two board members of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce - Jonathan Wright of the Wright Agency in Downingtown and his wife and business partner, Maria Wright - recently presented a donation to The Parkesburg POINT youth center.

Dwayne Walton, executive director of The POINT, along with his wife, Amy Walton, the POINT's program director and volunteer coordinator, accepted the donation, which will be used for the youth center's after-school programs and operational costs.

The donation came in part from a partnership that the Wright Agency has formed with Westfield Insurance, located in central Ohio. Westfield's Legacy of Caring program links nonprofits, such as The POINT, with funds made available from its top agency partners - in this case The Wright Agency, which has been partnered with Westfield Insurance for decades.

Following the donation, the Wrights took part in a tour of The POINT. Amy pointed out the facility's professional art studio that the youths can use. Dwayne displayed the indoor and outdoor basketball courts, e-gaming room, commercial kitchen and more.

Dwayne pointed out that the students who come to The POINT have lots of activities to pick from, noting that The POINT's slogan is "Every Child Deserves Hope."
