Parks Foundation Plans Car Show

The Strasburg Community Parks Foundation will hold its inaugural car show on Saturday, July 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. In the case of rain, the event will take place on Saturday, July 24. Proceeds will benefit the Strasburg Community Park.

Exhibited vehicles will be parked within Strasburg Community Park, 151 Precision Ave.; behind Strasburg Borough's Municipal Complex along Precision Avenue. Part of Precision Avenue will be temporarily closed for the event.

DJ Rockin' Roy Probst will play tunes, many of which have auto-related themes, for the duration of the show. The Fry Shack will sell chicken barbecue dinners along with its regular fare of burgers, hot dogs and fries. A variety of flavors of Italian water ice will be available for purchase from Rice's Ices. The event will also include games and activities for children, door prizes, and giveaway drawings.

Car show chairperson Barb Rathbone-Frank, a board member of the Strasburg Community Parks Foundation, noted that unique awards will include a car that would be suitable for a wedding, a car that brings up fond memories, and a car that has great potential. Award winners will be recognized during the final hour of the show.

Registration for exhibitors is by donation and will take place on the day of the show. The show is free of charge for spectators, and parking will be available in nearby streets.

The park's main parking lot is located at 151 Precision Ave. and is reserved for handicapped-accessible parking. For further information and updates about the car show, visit http://www.strasburgpark.org or http://www.facebook.com/strasburgcommunitypark, or contact Rathbone-Frank at 717-572-6830.
