PCA&D posts spring community classes

Center for Creative Exploration (CCE), a program of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D), will offer in-person and online opportunities this spring for adults who hobbyists, amateurs or professionals. The spring session will kick off on Saturday, April 15, with the second year of a partnered weekend retreat of making at both the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and the PCA&D campus with the Make and Create Weekend Retreat.

Adult professionals interested in credit-bearing classes for one of four certificates can sign up for online Design Thinking or Adobe Photoshop courses, both of which will kick off on Wednesday, April 26. These classes are complemented by professional development workshops in social media marketing and branding.

Adult enrichment offerings include off-site, intergenerational, creative writing, fine art, and technical offerings such as Puppet Creation: Intergenerational Studio Age 10 - Adult, Kitchen Lithography, and Walking Meditation at Tanger Arboretum.

CCE continues to strive to offer a diverse array of classes within a wide range of timeframes and modes of learning. Students interested in learning in person can opt to take one or multiple sessions on the PCA&D campus. Students interested in learning online continue to have several options, and students interested in partnered offerings may engage in workshops and classes in collaboration with LancasterHistory and Garden Spot Village.

CCE classes meeting in April and May include Art Support: Instagram Reels 101 Workshop with marketing professional and educator Shannon Hamblin; Getting Unstuck: Brainstorming for Creatives with alumnus, innovator, and educator Steve Geist; Easy Weaving for the Home Studio: Intergenerational Studio Age 11 - Adult with artist and educator Joanna Spicer; SciFi Discussion and Writing Workshop with writer and educator Josh Keller; and Alla Prima Portrait Painting with alumna and educator Leah Limpert Walt.
