PCA&D to present exhibits

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) will present "Sendoff," a selection of artworks by the members of the Class of 2023, in its Main Gallery through Friday, June 30. The show features a sampling of the thesis work in illustration, painting, animation, game art, photography, video, sculpture, and graphic design created by PCA&D's most recent alumni. This exhibit provides an opportunity for those who missed the annual weekend Senior Show event in early May to view a condensed version of that large-scale exhibition and continue to celebrate the students.

On First Friday, July 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., the college will present "Creative Contributions" in its Hayden Gallery, a space normally off view to the public except through the building's front windows. "Creative Contributions" will highlight artworks by alumni Randall Lear, Class of 2011, and Joe Palumbo, Class of 2008, artists who served as alumni jurors for student artwork exhibitions in 2022-23.

Lear, a fine art adjunct instructor at PCA&D and instructor at other institutions in the region, earned his Master of Fine Arts from American University in painting and has exhibited widely along the East Coast. Palumbo, director of Grandview Gallery in West Lawn, is a fantasy illustrator whose work has appeared on comic book covers, graphic novels, and magazines and is exhibited in galleries and private collections.
