PCA&D To Showcase Art By Educators

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) will host a new exhibition, "Show Your Work," featuring pieces from members of the Pennsylvania Art Educators Association (PAEA). The exhibition will run through Friday, Dec. 9.

An official opening reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. during the PAEA conference and immediately following its keynote speaker session at the Lancaster County Convention Center, 25 S. Queen St., Lancaster.

"Show Your Work" showcases pieces by 32 art educators from across Pennsylvania. Members of the PAEA were invited to submit their work to be juried by Heidi Leitzke, an associate professor of art and the director of the Eckert Art Gallery at Millersville University. The selected works, in a variety of mediums - oil and acrylic paint, found objects, ceramics, photography, fibers, jewelry, wood, digital illustration, and more - are on display on all three levels of The Main Gallery at PCA&D.

PCA&D's participation in the PAEA conference will also include a special Art Recess for Adults session hosted by the college's Center for Creative Exploration (CCE) on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Downtown Welcome Center, 38 Penn Square. In addition, PCA&D's Atrium space will host a Young Artist Exhibition to display pieces by its Saturday students on Oct. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to noon and again from 2 to 2:30 p.m. That evening, PAEA will hold a private, ticketed dinner for conference attendees in PCA&D's fourth-floor LookOut following the exhibition's official opening reception.
