Penlanco FCU donates to Power Packs Project

Penlanco Federal Credit Union (FCU) hosted its fourth annual designer purse bingo at the Farm and Home Center in Lancaster on Oct. 14. Penlanco FCU selects a beneficiary for this event each year, and this year proceeds were donated to the Power Packs Project. A nonprofit organization, Power Packs aims to improve the mental and physical health of children by helping their parents provide nutritious meals over the weekends when school breakfast and lunch programs are unavailable to them.

According to Penlanco FCU's CEO Stacey Remick, 225 attendees took part in the fundraiser, raising $15,086 to help feed food insecure children in the community. This amount will provide more than 15,000 meals for children and families in need.

Penlanco FCU's next bingo event will be on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, with the recipient to be determined.

Penlanco FCU was formed in 1938 to serve PPL Electric Utilities employees. In 2020, Penlanco FCU began offering membership to other employer groups and now serves the employees of PPL Electric Utilities, City of Lancaster, Brubacher Excavating, Talen Energy, MVE Group, Seth Energy and Reliant Heating and Cooling, among others.

Penlanco FCU also serves first responders serving with the Blue Rock Regional Fire District, Mountville Fire Company No. 1 and the Lancaster Township Fire Department. Penlanco FCU is actively seeking additional employer groups. For more information, visit http://www.penlancofcu.com.
