Penn Manor Boys To Host Summer Basketball League

The Penn Manor boys' basketball program will host a youth league this summer for students entering fourth through seventh grades.

The league will meet for two sessions each week for four weeks. It began on June 21 and will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Thursday, July 21, with no sessions the week of July 4. Fourth- and fifth-graders will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Sixth- and seventh-graders will meet from noon to 2 p.m.

All sessions will be held at Hambright Elementary School, 3000 Charlestown Road, Lancaster.

The league will focus on individual skill development while teaching offensive and defensive fundamentals. In each session, players will complete a series of drills to develop ballhandling skills, pivot foot maneuvers, layup skills, shooting form, defensive footwork, and other defensive concepts. For the last part of each session, the boys will have the opportunity to apply these skills in live game situations, which will include 2-on-2 through 5-on-5.
