PeoplesBank Supports YMCA

PeoplesBank recently donated $50,000 to the Y Community Development Corporation, which is part of the YMCA of the Roses' community development work to lift up local neighborhoods through projects ranging from establishing affordable housing to improving public safety infrastructure.

PeoplesBank is a key partner of the Y Community Development Corporation and the YMCA, with this year being the fourth year of a five-year commitment in the state's Neighborhood Assistance Program. Through the program, millions of dollars have gone toward improving the quality of life of thousands of individuals, youths and families.

The YMCA and its partners have transformed blighted properties into low-income housing; installed and maintained streetlights; implemented security camera systems, which have been used to assist law enforcement; maintained the appearance of local neighborhoods through façade improvements; and been part of ongoing street sweeping efforts.

Established in November of 2021, the YMCA of the Roses is the result of a merger between the YMCA of York and York County and the Lancaster Family YMCA. Since 1854, the YMCA has been serving more than 60,000 people a year in the region through programs in the focus areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
