Christ Church Yorkana, 5 Main St., Yorkana, will host a "Victory" vacation Bible school (VBS) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily from Monday to Friday, July 10 to 14. The pep rally-themed program is based on 1 Corinthians 15:57 and is for children age 4 through those who have completed sixth grade.

Through the stories of biblical figures like David and Esther, children will learn about victory through courage, obedience, faith, unity and Jesus. The VBS will also feature a special cheer for each group of children, prizes and spirit days, including Red, White and Blue Day; Hat Day; and Mismatch Day. Children who attend every day will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate to Go 'N Bananas.

Offerings will be received for Heifer International, and the amount raised will determine the number of chances children will have to pop a slime-filled balloon over the head of Pastor Jason, the master of ceremonies, at the closing celebration on July 14 at 11:15 a.m. in the sanctuary. During the closing celebration, the kids and staff members will also recap the week with songs and Bible memory verses. The gift certificate drawing will also take place, there will be a special surprise, and a light lunch will be provided by Big Bob's BBQ.
