Perennial Plant Education Day Set

The Perennial Plant Association (PPA) announced that Monday, Aug. 1, will be Perennial Plant Education Day. The event, part of the PPA's 2022 National Symposium, will be held at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square in Lancaster, and education will be centered on the theme "Native Friendly Gardening and Supporting Pollinators."

Participants will attend lectures by five speakers on unique topics regarding perennials. The lectures will feature "Plants for Pollinators: The Ecological Value of Perennial Garden Flowers," "Have You Thought of Growing Clematis for Pollinators? What We Know About Their Ecosystem Functions," "Champions or Chumps? Perennial Plant of the Year Winners in Review," "Containers That Create Spaces," and "Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gardens: Flourishing Through Sustainability."

The public is encouraged to attend the educational sessions, being presented in partnership by PPA, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), Morris Arboretum, and the Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program. Members of these partnering organizations can also receive a registration discount by contacting their local representative.

Lunch is included in the registration cost. The early bird registration deadline is Friday, June 24, and final registration deadline is Friday, July 22.
