Performances of "Messiah" Set

St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, will host two performances of the Christmas section of George Frideric Handel's "Messiah" on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 4 and 7 p.m.

Under the direction of Tom Berdos, music director at St. Peter's, a 100-voice community chorus, professional soloists, and a 26-piece professional orchestra will present the work. Since its premiere in Dublin in 1742, "Messiah" has been performed across the globe. This year's performance will include the "Hallelujah" chorus and the final "Amen" that closes the oratorio.

The featured soloists will include Monica Ziglar, soprano; Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase, mezzo; Christyan Seay, tenor; and Richard Zuch, bass. Each soloist has a distinguished performing career regionally and nationally.
