The Pioneer golfers got off to a great start in looking to defend their Section Two title. On Aug. 24 they swept the competition, topping the nearest competitor by a commanding 35 strokes.

"The section is pretty weak this year," said Pioneer boss Mike Chiodo. "I don't think anyone will catch us."

Brothers Ben Wilson, one stroke off the low score of the day, a 75 by Cocalico's Trey Rios, and Matt Wilson led L-S to a 319 with 76 and 78 scores, respectively. Jason Long (82), Gehrig Harsh (83) and Morgan Smith (83) were close behind as the Pioneers went 4-0, beating Cocalico 354, Elco 378, Northern Lebanon 398 and Octorara 411.
