Playhouse Plans Winter Programs

Hershey Area Playhouse, 830 Cherry Drive, Hershey, will offer winter sessions for students in grades one to 12. The winter program will run on Saturdays, Jan. 14 to March 4. There is a cost per student per class.

Fairy Tales! Mixed-Up Fairy Tales! And Made-Up Fairy Tales! will be offered to children in grades one to three from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Children will bring characters to life in creative and interactive ways. They will also learn about settings and overall storytelling. Teachers always focus on the actors' tools and will introduce fun games and exercises to help support these fundamentals.

Create a Scene! will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon for students in grades four to six. This eight-week session will make a slow progression from simple scenes to complex scenes to "write your own" scenes involving conflicts and problem-solving. Students will enjoy games, exercises, and improv to help develop understanding and confidence.

Create a Scene! for students in grades seven to 12 will run from 1 to 3 p.m. The older group of students will also focus on scene work with partners.

The playhouse is committed to the health and safety of students and teachers. CDC guidelines will be followed.
