Historic Poole Forge (HPF) has scheduled its annual Children's Trout Derby and a photography show featuring the work of local photographers.

The eighth annual Children's Trout Derby is set for Saturday, April 30. Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m., with fishing slated for 9 a.m. to noon. The free event will be held rain or shine.

Children will be divided into two age groups: ages 4 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. Prizes will be awarded in both groups. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Beartown Sportsman's Association will assist with the derby. The association will host its own derby on Saturday, May 7, and the community is invited to attend. For more information about the organization and its activities, visit http://www.facebook.com/Beartownsportsmanassoc.

The photography show in the HPF mansion will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free. There will also be a selection of prints for sale.
