Preschool program announces registration

The Hempfield High School (HHS) Preschool Laboratory program will hold registration for its 2023-24 school year preschool program beginning on Wednesday, March 1, at noon. Registration will be offered at http://www.hempfieldsd.org/preschool.

In the HHS Preschool Laboratory Program, high school students work with preschool children in a student-teacher capacity. Each week has a designated theme, and the high school students are responsible for creating a lesson and planning activities, games, and songs to carry out the learning experience. Guests and appropriate activities are often included to enhance the learning experiences for children.

The two-day programs for 3- and 4-year-olds will be held on Mondays and Fridays, either in the morning from 7:50 to 10:20 a.m. or in the afternoon from 11:15 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Children enrolling in this program must be 3 years of age by Sept. 1.

The three-day program for 4- and 5-year-olds, runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays either from 7:50 to 10:20 a.m. or from 11:15 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Children enrolling in this program must be 4 years old by Sept. 1. The preschool suggests that children who register for the three-day program have attended the two-day program first. The focus for the three-day program is kindergarten readiness.

There is a fee for the programs, with a discount for residents of Hempfield School District. A nonrefundable deposit is due at the time of registration.
