Presentation to focus on bird atlas

The Lancaster County Bird Club will hold a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. at the North Museum of Nature and Science, 400 College Ave., Lancaster. A short business meeting will precede the program.

Amber Wiewel, coordinator of the Pennsylvania Bird Atlas 3 (PBA3), will present "Let's (Try to) Count All the Birds in Pennsylvania!" The PBA3 seeks to refine people's knowledge of the current distribution, relative abundance, and timing of breeding for all the breeding birds of Pennsylvania, information that will be used for prioritizing conservation needs. Wiewel will share how community members can contribute to the PBA3.

The meeting is free and open to the public. For more details, call 717-856-3851 or 717-725-2717. More information about the club is available at http://www.lancasterbirdclub.org or http://www.facebook.com/lancasterbirdclub.
