Program to cover day trip destinations

The Solanco Historical Society will present a program titled "Explore!" on Saturday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the society's Archives Building, 1932 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville. The building is located across from the Robert Fulton Birthplace. The program is free and open to the public.

Librarian and local history enthusiast Keith Greenawalt will speak about regional museums and historic sites that could be day trip destinations for area residents. The sites include the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center, SS John W. Brown, National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum, Havre de Grace Decoy Museum, and Rolls-Royce Museum. All sites are within approximately two hours of Lancaster.

Greenawalt is the director of the Dillsburg Area Public Library in York County and previously spent seven years working in libraries in his native Lancaster County. He holds degrees from Elizabethtown College and Clarion University. When not searching for the next museum to visit, he lives in Carlisle with his wife, Kami.
