Program to examine garden habitats

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lancaster County will host a webinar, "Breaking Bad Habitats," on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Jeff Lorenz, founder of Refugia Design-Build, will speak about traditional landscaping practices versus design alternatives that reduce lawn, integrate sustainable best practices, manage stormwater, and put plants to work to create low-input, high-impact landscapes. Attendees will learn ways that Lorenz and his team help gardeners transform their properties into native habitats that promote connectivity, biodiversity, and ecological refuge for plants, wildlife, and people.

There is a fee. To register, visit http://extension.psu.edu/breaking-bad-habitats.
