Program to explore Alzheimer's and dementia

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will host "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia" on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Stacy Reed, a Penn State Extension educator, will explain the differences between Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Reed will also speak about the stages of these conditions, risk factors, research, and FDA-approved treatments. There will be a question-and-answer time. Reed works with the Alzheimer's Association to bring educational programs to the community.

The program is free, but registration is required by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org and clicking on "Calendar" or by calling 717-653-1510. Participants do not need a library card to attend.
