Program To Explore Fraktur

Mennonite Life will offer a program about fraktur, a Pennsylvania Dutch folk art, on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster. Attendees will see and learn about 11 fraktur pieces in the Mennonite Life collection not typically on display.

David Johnson, a local historian and the author of the book "Christian Strenge's Fraktur," will discuss the pieces, their provenance, and any known stories related to the artists and the works. Following this one-hour event, attendees may enjoy a light reception and an opportunity to shop in the museum store.

The fraktur program is free. Preregistration is encouraged but not required at https://mennonitelife.org/events.
