Program to explore native tree conservation

Manada Conservancy will offer a presentation, "Applying Tools of Chestnut Restoration to Other Threatened Species," on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at the East Hanover Township Building, 8848 Jonestown Road, Grantville.

Lake Graboski of the American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) will explain the disease triangle model for forest restoration. Non-native pests and pathogens threaten tree species in the local region, and the work of TACF to restore the American chestnut, a native species, to forests may serve as a model for the restoration of other threatened tree species.

The program is free of charge. For more information and to register, email office@manada.org or call 717-566-4122.
