Program to focus on Civil War sniper

The Hershey Civil War Roundtable will meet on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be held virtually only; the livestream may be viewed via Zoom and Facebook. The recording will also be posted at http://www.hersheycwrt.org after the meeting.

Bob O'Brian will present "Jack Hinson: The Avenging Sniper, The Legendary and Most Wanted Civil War Sniper." John "Jack" Hinson was a wealthy plantation owner near Fort Donelson, Tenn., and the Kentucky border. He was determined to keep himself and his family neutral during the war, but a Union patrol captured and executed two of his sons while they were hunting. Hinson sought to avenge his sons' death by becoming a sniper.
