Program To Focus on Hearing Loss and Mental Health

The Lancaster County Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) will hold a meeting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Crossings Meeting Room on the second floor of the Calvin G. & Janet C. High Learning & Wellness Center at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz. The program is free of charge.

Claudia Dewane will discuss "Hearing Loss and Your Mental Health." Dewane, who has hearing loss, holds a master's degree in social work from Columbia University and a doctorate in adult education and health psychology from Penn State University. She is the founder of Clinical Support Associates, which provides training to professional social workers. She previously worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 30 years in clinical, supervisory, and policy capacities and was an associate professor at Temple University for more than 25 years.

The program will include a question-and-answer time.
