Program to focus on mansion

The Strasburg Heritage Society will meet on Monday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Decatur St.

The speaker will be James Abbott, the executive director of Wright's Ferry Mansion in Columbia. The mansion was built in 1738 for Susanna Wright, an English Quaker who was also a poet and businesswoman. The two-and-a-half-story building has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.

The meeting will also offer opportunities for attendees to purchase prints and books on the history of Strasburg from the Heritage Society. Additionally, Heritage Society members may pick up their 2023 membership cards.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
