Program to focus on metal detecting

The Lower Swatara Township Historic Preservation Society will host a presentation on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Lower Swatara Fire Department, 1350 Fulling Mill Road, Middletown, in the community hall. Speaker Dustin "DutchBoy" D'Agostino will present "Saving Local History by Metal Detecting."

D'Agostino is a local history detective and for 15 years he has saved history lost in the ground with meticulous research, positive interactions with property owners, metal detectors and digging tools. He has many artifacts, along with local stories of finding history.

D'Agostino has a YouTube Channel called "DutchBoy Adventures" with hundreds of videos, including several from Middletown, Lower Swatara and surrounding areas. To access the videos, visit http://www.youtube.com/c/DutchboyAdventures.
