Program to focus on music therapy

The Elizabeth Hughes Society will host a program titled "How Music Therapy Impacts Lives" on Monday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Church, 398 N. Locust St., Elizabethtown. The presenter, board-certified music therapist Kimberly Glass, will explain what music therapy is, whom it serves, and how it can be brought to more people in Elizabethtown.

Glass holds a bachelor's degree in music therapy from Elizabethtown College, and she recently celebrated her 19th year working at Masonic Village, where she supervises Elizabethtown College students in pre-internship practicum placements. In addition, she serves as music coordinator and accompanist at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Glass' primary instrument is the piano, but she frequently uses the guitar, the ukulele, and percussion instruments in music therapy group and one-on-one sessions. She has been a presenter at several music therapy conferences.

The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information, call 717-449-4769.
